Charles Village Celebration

       The annual Charles Village Celebration will be held in Wyman Park Dell, Charles & 29th Streets, on Sat. & Sun., June 3 and 4. Highlights on Sat. include a 5K race and a Kids’ Fun Run at 8:30 a.m.; a gala parade that steps off at 10 a.m. at 23rd & St. Paul Streets, continues north to 33rd, goes west on 33rd to Charles, and then south on Charles to 29th St., where it will disband. Starting at 8 p.m. Sat., there’s an “Urban Camp Out,” with neighbors bringing their tents to sleep under the stars and share a cook-out.

       The festival, with food, vendors, kids’ games, and live entertainment, continues both days, starting at 9 a.m. Sat. and 10 a.m. Sun. A big attraction on Sun. will be the annual self-guided Garden Walk tour, with tickets selling for $6.

       The Charles Village Civic Association sponsors this event. Its next meeting will be held on Wed., June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Village Learning Place, 2521 St. Paul St. Info: 662-7777.
