Since 1992 the organization's Book Bank has provided more than 1,000,000 new and gently used books to disadvantaged families in Baltimore. Baltimore Reads helps educationally disadvantaged children and adults improve their quality of life and self-sufficiency through strong literacy and job training programs. In conjunction with the Ripken Learning Center, reading and literacy is promoted as a tool for personal and economic self- improvement.
